Who is Eliza Hutton, where is she now, is she dating anyone?
Eliza Hutton is a casting director who did extensive work in Hollywood in the 1990s. But she’s better known as the fiancee of actor Brandon Lee, Bruce Lee’s charismatic son before his tragic death in 1993.
Who is Eliza Hutton?
Eliza Hutton was born in 1964 in Kansas City,Missouri. There is no information about her early life and education. Her first work in the film industry was in 1988 as an executive assistant to director Renny Harlin, who was responsible for hit films such as Die Hard 2: Die Harder (1990) and Cliffhanger (1993) . In 1991 she worked as a story editor at Stillwater Productions, a company owned by British-Canadian actor, producer and director Kiefer Sutherland. She also worked for a few other casting and production companies.
Hutton met Brandon Lee, the legend’s son. Movie star and martial artist Bruce Lee worked for director Harlin in 1990. The duo began dating and by October 1992 they were engaged after Brandon proposed while she was on a European tour to promote his film Rapid Fire (1992). The couple already had plans for a romantic dream wedding, but their hopes and Brandon’s path to stardom were tragically cut short on the set of the 1993 goth comic film The Crow. Brandon sadly passed away on March 31, 1993 in Wilmington, North Carolina while he was filming a scene from the film where a dummy bullet accidentally hit his stomach and lodged in his spine. Young Brandon died 12 hours after being shot. He was only twenty-eight years old.
Despite the events leading up to Lee’s death, his mother and Eliza Hutton supported the film’s completion. However, Hutton requested stricter gun regulations on film sets to avoid such tragedies in the future, as the death of her fiancé was the cause. Even more, after the completion of the film Crow was dedicated to Hutton and Brandon. A gun safety program was also established on behalf of Brandon to educate actors about gun safety and film set regulations. She also campaigned to have the film’s producers donate a portion of the film’s marketing revenues to the safety program.
Where is she now, is she dating anyone?
Since Brandon’s death, Hutton has maintained a very low profile. Although she continued her casting work, she initially put her career on hold and moved to New York in 1994, probably to grieve, but eventually returned to Los Angeles four years later.
In recent years she has been involved in…volunteering for children’s welfare. Along with several charities in Los Angeles, she researches and works for abused and neglected children, especially for the safe care and housing of people not living in foster homes.Hutton, who currently lives in Los Angeles, married another man in 2004. Although she has been less active in the film industry in recent years, in 2011 she worked as an assistant to the crew of Kiefer Sutherland on the series The Confession .
