Crash involving semi-truck injures 13 on eastern section of PA Turnpike

Lehigh County, Pennsylvania — Authorities say 13 people were injured overnight when a semi-truck crashed on Interstate 476 in Lehigh County.
Emergency crews responded to the scene on the busy northeast extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lower Macungie Township where a tractor-trailer collided with several other vehicles.
At least two people had to be extricated by emergency crews following the crash.
At this time there are no details on the extent of those injuries and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
The southbound lanes of I-476 were shut down for hours as crews worked to clean up the scene.
