Thousands gather at Altoona-Blair County Airport for President Trump's rally

MARTINSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — President Donald Trump visited Martinsburg Monday as part of his "Make America Great Again" victory rallies to make one last push for voters to put him back in the Oval Office for the next four years.

The rally was held at the Altoona-Blair County Airport and thousands of people were there to see the president.

Blair County was one of the last few stops for President Trump as we head into the final stretch toward Election Day.

The event was President Trump’s first-time visiting Blair County for his 2020 campaign tour.

He made a stop in Johnstown a few weeks ago and visited the Blair County Convention Center during his run in 2016.

Right before flying to Blair County, he made a stop in Lancaster earlier Monday, but at the Altoona-Blair County Airport, thousands of Trump supporters lined up all morning long to get inside to hear his remarks which were scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.

Before entering the rally, supporters were asked to put on their masks and get a temperature check as part of the COVID-19 safety protocols.

Residents say they are honored the president is making a presence in their own town.

“It’s very important,” says Tami Kinser. “To show that we’re all together as Pennsylvanians and that we support the same cause that we have the same morals and the same goals for our state I think it’s very important as republicans also and democrats also can vote for the president.”
