Penn State's 'voice of the Nittany Lions' speaks on fall football cancellation
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WJAC) — To most Penn State sports fans, Steve Jones is simply known as "the voice of the Nittany Lions."
He's been doing the radio play-by-play for Penn State football games for decades.
But what about this fall, with the football season postponed?
Mr. Jones -- he prefers we call him Mr. Jones -- says he wasn’t shocked by the decision to postpone Penn State football, but a bit surprised and now finds his Saturday afternoons in the fall open.
He admits he'll still be watching football on Saturdays, and he’ll also stay busy teaching his classes at Penn State School of Communication.
He’ll also be preparing for another one of his broadcast duties doing play-by play for the Nittany Lions basketball team.
