Jay-Z Calls Out Robert De Niro for Acting Above Others [Video]
Beef alert. Jay-Z still don't like Bobby D. The Hov called out iconic actor Robert De Niro during a radio interview but in a very subtle, sidestepping sorta way.
While chatting with Power 105.1 in New York, Shawn Carter was asked about his relationship with De Niro, who reportedly once gave the rapper a talking-to at a party for not returning his phone calls.
Whoa, wait. First, Jay-Z doesn’t return Bobby D's calls and then talks trash -- in a classy way, if there is such a thing -- in a radio interview? You know you are the king of the hill when you can do both of those things.
Jay-Z spoke in measured words when answering the question, saying, "I treat people based on who they are ... who they REALLY are. Not the name, not 'Robert De Niro,' but who you are as a person. It doesn’t matter who you are. Everyone has to be respectful and a human being. No one is above … That's how I carry it with anybody."
Dayum! Sounds like De Niro was disrespectful to Jay-Z in some fashion, so he ain't having any of it. We, on the other hand, have to respect those kinda cajones!
Still, we hope that the Hov and De Niro can bury the hatchet and maybe Jay can do the score or soundtrack to one of his movies. Both are icons in their respective fields.
