Hallmark store in Westwood Plaza to close

JOHNSTOWN - A well-known store in the Westwood Plaza will soon be closing its doors.

The Hallmark store on Minno Drive will be open at least through Valentine's Day and will be week-to-week after that as it sells its remaining inventory.

The manager said the store will not operate past the end of March, when the lease runs out.

“The Westwood Plaza location was independently owned, as are the majority of our stores, and our independent owners make business decisions based on their own circumstances,” Hallmark spokesman Andy Diorio said.

“Closings can be based on a variety of reasons such as an owner simply wanting to retire, difficult lease negotiations, slowing sales during economic slumps, and changes in the trade area that can challenge profitability.

“There are two additional Hallmark stores in Johnstown our valued consumers may still visit, one in The Johnstown Galleria and one in Richland Town Centre.”
