Female Ghostbusters Surprise Children's Hospital in Full Costume: Pics
Here to save the day! The new stars of the upcoming all-female Ghostbusters reboot paid a special visit to the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center this past weekend.
Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Kristen Wiig stopped by the medical center in Boston on Saturday, Aug. 1. They visited with patients in their full Ghostbusters costumes, sporting the movie's updated trademark jumpsuits and proton packs.
"Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center patients got a huge surprise today when Ghostbusters stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones came to visit!" a rep for Tufts Medical Center wrote on the hospital's official Facebook page. "Thank you for taking the time out of filming today to put a big smile on our patients faces! #WhoYouGonnaCall #Ghostbusters."
The four women cozy up to patients of all ages in the photos posted by Tufts Medical Center, with Wiig holding a newborn in one shot, and the ladies posing near the bed of an older patient in another.
The mother of a little boy who got the chance to spend time with the stars commented on his photo, writing, "That was wonderful of them to take the time to put a smile on my son's face! He's been through soooo much in his battle against Stage-4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer! This was good for his morale and very appreciated!"
Wiig, McCarthy, McKinnon, and Jones took a break from their busy filming schedule for the sweet visit. The hilarious stars have been working on the upcoming flick nearby in Boston, stepping into the ghost-fighting roles previously held by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson.
