Collect Keys & Open Desert Door God of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok Desert Keys Locations

Before you can open the Desert Door in God of War Ragnarok, you need to find the locations of two keys and collect them (well, two halves of one key). These items are called Alfheim Barrens Key Halves. Both of them are in the Forbidden Sands area. The desert has several stone circles in blue sand scattered across it, and each of these circles have some item in the middle. It’s usually upgrade materials, but two of them house the halves of the desert key. In the screenshots below, we’ll show you where these two blue circles are. After you collect both halves, it’s time to seek the door out.

Open Desert Door in God of War Ragnarok

After you collect the two Alfheim Barrens Keys in God of War Ragnarok, you can unlock the Desert Door. Problem is, the game won’t show you where it is. So, go to the north of the Burrows, to the place we’ve marked below. There, you’ll find a solitary, vertical rock that you can grapple onto using the Blades of Chaos. Then, fire off the Blades at the wall opposite the rock to break through. You’ll have to kill a couple of enemies on the plateau. After you do, head to the giant doors and open them with the Alfheim Barren Key. There’ll be a huge boss to fight, so good luck. Also, the solution to the Forgotten Tower treasure map is on the same plateau, so be sure to pick that up.
