Central PA Humane Society throws 'Paws in the Park' charity event
HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Looking for the purr-fect thing to do this weekend? Well, Saturday and Sunday in Hollidaysburg's Legion Park, the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society is throwing a charity event called Paws in the park. We spoke to the organization about the outdoor bash and how it helps them save animals
“It helps the humane society -- you know -- care for every animal that comes through our door,” explained Heather Snyder. “It helps us give vet care to all the animals. It costs us $365 per year -- just in medical care for these animals.”
The event will feature loads of different food and activities for all ages -- even a battle of the bands.
“We'll have food vendors, craft vendors, there's hay rides this year, there's corn mazes, there's a battle of the bands this year and just all kinds of different things to do for all ages,” Snyder said.

will be a Battle of the Bands all day into the evening starting @ 2:00, and a Hot Dogs & Cool Cats Car Show featuring Lenny Fiore's Classic Cars from Noon to 4pm !

will be Family Day with a Stray Dog Strut 5k/2k at Noon, a Petting Zoo, Pony Rides and even a Unicorn named Clyde!
The weekend ends with a chance to WIN $1,000, $500 OR $100 when 1,000 or more golf balls drop from atop a fire ladder truck over a golf hole. Will your ball be the PURR-FECTLY dropped one to land in the hole 1st? Balls $10 each.
