Breezewood man faces multiple charges after police find meth and handgun in traffic stop
A 38-year-old Breezewood man has been charged in Altoona, after police allegedly found methamphetamine and a handgun during a traffic stop.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, state police found about 10 ounces of meth and a loaded pistol in Brandon Hampton’s vehicle Tuesday in Altoona.
A large amount of plastic baggies was also found in the vehicle, according to the affidavit.
Hampton is a felon and is not supposed to possess a gun, according to the affidavit.
He has been charged with felony drug possession, felony possession of a prohibited firearm, third-degree felony firearms not to be carried without a license, intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered, drug paraphernalia possession and a summary offense.
He was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Paula M. Aigner, of Hollidaysburg, and was sent to the Blair County Prison in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 15 before Aigner.
An online court docket did not list an attorney for Hampton Tuesday afternoon.
